College computers: Accessibility settings

All individuals in the Bryn Mawr Community can greatly benefit from utilizing accessibility settings to make personalized adjustments for how they interact with a college computer. If you have a) a visual disability, b) an auditory disability, and/or c) a physical disability, knowing how to reach a computer's accessibility settings can be especially helpful.

To access the accessibility settings provided on college computers:

  1. Log into a College computer with your Bryn Mawr credentials.
  2. Once you sign in, go to the gray taskbar at the bottom of the main screen and click on the black magnifying glass icon.
  3. Search for the word settings in the white search bar that will appear OR, if a Top Apps section is displayed on the screen, click on the blue and gray gear labeled Settings.
  4. Go to the side bar on the left and click on the Accessibility button.
  5. You will see a list of the features grouped by the categories Vision, Hearing, and Interaction
  6. Search for "accessibility" in the search bar in the top left corner of the screen. You will see an uncategorized list of accessibility features. You can scroll down to see all the features.
  7. To access a specific feature, click the button for that feature.
  8. To go back to the list of features after clicking on a specific one, click Accessibility at the top of the screen.
