Campus visitors can use a variety of Bryn Mawr College services by obtaining a visitor account or visiting internet kiosks available throughout campus.
Visitor accounts
A visitor account provides one week of access to the following services on Bryn Mawr's campus:
- the College wireless network, eduroam
- public lab computers and software
- printing and scanning services
Attention: All activity while using a visitor account must abide by the College's Acceptable Use Policy; any violation can result in the immediate termination of access.
Obtain a visitor account
To obtain a visitor account, visit the Help Desk on the 1st floor of Canaday Library.
You must be at least 18 years old to request a visitor account.
You will need the following:
- A valid photo I.D. with date of birth
- A phone number or email address
Host requests for visitor accounts
Employees and offices that plan to host one or more visitors on campus can submit a request for visitor accounts ahead of time. This enables the host to pick up the accounts before they are needed, saving guests the time needed to come to the Help Desk to request an account.
Hosts should submit these requests to the Help Desk no less than 48 business hours before the account needs to be picked up; otherwise the Help Desk staff can't guarantee they'll be available in time. Please keep in mind it is often desirable to pick up the account the day before a visitor arrives.
Conferences, camps, and events
Visitor accounts are provided to attendees of conferences, camps, and other events by the office of Conferences and Events. Questions about obtaining visitor accounts for these events should be directed there.
Network access
Visitors from participating eduroam institutions can connect to eduroam, the College wireless network, using their home institution's email address and password.
- Use your visitor account to connect to eduroam!
- The Wyndham Hotel has a separate guest network that only covers the Hotel's premises. Guests staying at the Hotel can request access to this network at the Wyndham front desk.
Warning: Wireless hotspots are not permitted on campus.
Computer and resource access
Internet kiosks and public computer labs are computers that can be found in multiple locations on campus and provide visitors with access to the internet and additional resources.
Internet kiosks
These devices can be found across campus, including in the libraries, and provide access to the web without a College account. They provide access to library catalogs and materials.
Public lab computers
These devices make an extensive suite of software available for use with a visitor account. They are located throughout campus.
Caution: During busy times of the year, there may be no available computers for visitors to use.
Printing services
With a visitor account, you can send print jobs from any public lab computer to the lab printers. Visitor accounts are limited to 100 prints/copies.
Log in to a printer with your visitor account to:
- Release queued print jobs
- Make copies
- Scan to a USB drive
